What's On

Social Justice Ministry Team

Core activities

To respond to human need by loving service and work to transform unjust structures of society through our initiatives, such as:

  • Connections Cafe and Dalmeny Kirk Café - providing friendship, companionship, local information and tackling social isolation
  • Food Poverty - using resources we obtain from FareShare while working with other organisations for the benefit of our whole community
  • Winter Warmth - working with other community organisations to provide a warm space for those who require it in the winter months
  • Eco Congregation - challenging church, congregation and our wider community to be better stewards of God’s creation

Role:

  • Research and develop ways of reaching out to people on the edges of the Church and even beyond the influence of the Church and enable them to discover and draw closer into the life of the Church and the journey of faith
  • Develop our profile in the community so that Dalmeny and Queensferry Parish Church is seen as being at the heart of the community.
  • Continue to establish and maintain links with other Churches in the area and community groups
  • Encourage and enable members and associates of the congregation to respond further to God’s calling to engage in community life and provide a means for them to pursue such a calling.
